Freighter SS James Carruthers found in Lake Huron after 100 years

The Undersea Research Associates find and identify the shipwreck James Carruthers in US waters far from the previously estimated loss location in Canadian waters. The Carruthers was the last lost freighter in Lake Huron from the Great Storm of 1913. The release of the finding was exclusively covered by the Detroit Free Press on August 24, 2025.
