Goliath

One of the most important archeological discoveries in recent maritime history is the Goliath, which was lost with all hands during a storm in 1848. The Goliath was one of the first propellers built, and was the first propeller constructed expressly for carrying cargo in the Great Lakes. Her mechanical components, engine, propellers, boiler and firebox remain intact, making this the oldest marine fresh water propeller steam engine in existence. This is a unique opportunity to examine a very unusual ship when steam driven propellers were in their infancy.
